Air Fryer Steak and Asparagus

Equipment: air fryer, kitchen tongs, parchment paper 


Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces of frozen asparagus 
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil 
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder  
  • Dash of black pepper  
  • 2 beef tenderloin steaks (4 ounces each) 

Directions:

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 390 °F.  
  2. Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper and add frozen asparagus.  
  3. Cook for 5 minutes and then drizzle with oil, black pepper, and garlic powder. 
  4. Add the tenderloin steaks on top and season with black pepper. 
  5. Cook tenderloin steaks for 7 minutes and enjoy! 

Variations:

  • Use tuna steaks instead of beef tenderloin steaks if avoiding red meat.  
  • Use fresh asparagus in place of frozen asparagus.  

Notes:

  • Does not store well best to consume fresh.

  • Steak is an excellent source of heme-iron and B vitamins.  
  • Asparagus is a good source of fiber and copper.  

Savings Tip:

  • Buy a cheaper cut of steak such as top round steak instead of tenderloin steak.
