Cooked Shrimp, Clam, and Carrot Rice Porridge

Equipment: small or medium pot, lid


  • White rice, uncooked: 3 oz
  • Large shrimp, peeled and deveined: 2 oz
  • Clams: 3 oz
  • Carrots, sliced: 1 oz
  • Ginger, thinly sliced: 1 tbsp
  • Soy sauce: 1 tsp
  • Salt and pepper: 1/4 tsp
  • Water: 3 cups


  1. Add water to a pot over medium-high heat. Once boiling, add the rice and reduce the heat to medium-low. 
  2. Cover pot and simmer for about 20 minutes. Add the shrimp and clams.
  3. Stir the porridge for about 5-10 minutes.
  4. Add the carrots and ginger. Stir until cooked through then switch off the flame. 
  5. Serve with soy sauce, salt, and pepper.
